Our Zone is the Best Ever!

Emailed Sept. 22, 2011 Hey everyone! I find that once again, I have the opportunity to write all of you, and I love it! I have to say that this experience is really crazy, because it feels like I just wrote all of you yesterday. Well, I'm really greatful that I get to hear from all of you, and am glad that you share your stories with me. It's good to know what's going on in life, and hear how each of you are doing. One reason I am really thankful to hear from my family is because not all missionaries do. One of which that is in my prayers is Elder Reed. He hasn't heard from his family for 2 weeks by either e-mail or dearelder.com. The reason for my concern being that there is a wildfire in Texas right now that is really close to Elder Reed's house. I'm sure his family is okay, but I am concerned for his home and belongings. I just hope that he hears from them soon. Other than the concern for Elder Reed, things have been going well here. Our Zone is the best ever! I'm trying to take pictures of all of the great missionaries, and I need to write about them in my Journal, because I need to keep track of these great Elders. By the way, I won't be able to send pictures for a while. The Photo Developing Machine has been malfunctioning, and it's out of order for the time being. But I will try to get pictures to all of you as soon as possible. Well, I also found out that my time to write hand-written letters is more limited than I thought. I can only write hand-written letters during certain times on my P-Day. So I don't know how much I will be able to write. I have good news though! My very angry/demanding Facebook post was a success. This Monday, I received "Dear Elders" from John, Chris A, and Rachel. Then on Tuesday, I received a "Dear Elder" from Uncle Paul Petersen, and a hand-written letter from Grandma. I was suprised to say the least! My first reaction was "¿Carta...para yo?" (Mail...for me?). It was great to hear from all of them, though I have to say that John's was predictably short. It is fun though. All of the Elders here do a game for their received mail, that is based off of the Video Game "Halo". It was Elder ... idea. It's based off of the killing sprees and rewards in Halo. So in Halo if you kill 2 people in a row, or with the same shot, it is a "Double Kill". Here in the MTC, if you get 2 letters, it's a "Double Mail". So that means that on Monday, I got a "Triple Mail", and on Tuesday I got a "Double Mail". Yeah...we're all geeks.... Anyway, to answer some questions: Yes, I am very Happy here at the MTC. It's a great place to be. We even got to hear from Elder Russel M. Nelson this last Tuesday at the Devotional. He's a VERY funny apostle! It was a great devotional. Once again, I will have to tell you about it, and share my notes with you when I get home. Let's see....well the Spanish is going well. I'm kinda near the bottom of my District when it comes to speaking the language, but I'm pretty good at understanding it. So yeah, it's going okay. I have a few questions here about Karaoke in the Dorm rooms. Well, to say the least, the Elders in my room were singing Christmas music last night. It was fun, and we all realized that we don't know the lyrics to the Christmas Tree song... Switching Subjects, we found out last week that we are no longer required, as missionaries, to have a Visa to go to Panama. So all of us Elders weren't happy with that one bit, but I guess it means we won't have any trouble getting in to the country! Well, I'm sorry to cut it short, and I'm sorry if I didn't answer all of your questions, but I am out of time. Maybe I will be able to write you some hand-written letters later. Well, good luck with everything! I hate that you all have to move at once, and I wish I could help you all. Well, I love hearing from you all, and thanks Mom for the package with the nail clippers! Keep up the good work Chris! Be fun, and be safe all of you! I love you, and I look forward to hearing from you next week! Bye!

Love Trevor
