Learning at the MTC is Like Drinking From a Fire Hydrant . . .

Emailed Sept. 15, 2011

Hola mi familia!

Things here at the MTC are going quite nicely. I find that though we do a lot of study, that there is a great amount of fun to be had here. Though I must say that time flies like no other here at the MTC, but at the same time, the days feel long. There is a popular saying here, it goes: "Days seem like weeks, and weeks seem like days". They also say that sometimes learning here at the MTC is like drinking from a fire hydrant. Es Verdad! (it's true). We learn so much here at the MTC. It's freaking amazing! Plus.....wait for it...........this last Tuesday, we got to hear from M. Russel Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve! It....was....AWESOME!!! He told us many stories about when he was a missionary, and about how we should prepare ourselves. I will have to share my notes with you all when I get home, but it was amazing! I love how often we are able to feel the Spirit here at the MTC, and how powerful it is. It's truly a great feeling being surronded by fellow Missionaries. Plus, I know it's horrible of me, but the Hermana (Sister) Missionaries are also very great :) But let there be no worries, I am very concentrated on the work! Though, I guess I'll give you a little insight as to how me and my roomies work. We spend a lot of our free time messing around. We also have many code-words, and inside jokes, that make every day even better. So far, I would have to say that this place is like a Spiritual College Dorm. It's crazy how much fun we have. I know I'm going to get chewed out for this one, but every night here is Karaoke night. Everyone in our zone is always singing something as they walk around our dorm. That, and we have more fun than we should. There's probably a dozen different games that I have learned and played throughout my stay here. Plus, I have met a ton of amazing people. So yeah, I'm having a good time!

Well, it's good to hear from you all. I love to hear that things are going okay. It sounds like you are all keeping yourselves very busy.

Oh, before I forget. My P-Days are on Thursdays, and I will be e-mailing you all around 10:30, right after I finish my Temple Session. Mom, I hope that you continue to enjoy your classes. I know those are hard sometimes, but they are also very fulfilling. I have to say, I feel kind of bad that you had to mow the lawn. I would totally come and do it if I could :) Also, I'm not sure if you got it, but I sent you a handwritten letter this last week. Also, I'm sorry to everyone else that I haven't written a handwritten letter to you yet. I cannot find your addresses. I think I lost a few things when I got here. Like my nail clippers, and the store is out of them right now, so my nails are freakishly long, and it's driving me nuts! Dad, I hope work is still going well for you. I'm sure they've been keeping you busy. Also, sorry if I'm spending too much money. I find that there is always something I seem to need. Mik, keep having fun, and don't do anything I wouldn't do :) Chris, that goes for you too! Also, enjoy your mission! Well, I have no time left. I love you all, and will talk to you later!

Love, Trevor
